Is it true that people who drink diet soda are either too thin or too fat for it to make a difference?!

Question:

Is it true that people who drink diet soda are either too thin or too fat for it to make a difference?

Answers:

Let's break it down:

The thin folks who drink diet soft drinks are doing something beneficial. The average person can gain 15 pounds in one year just by drinking one regular can of their favorite soft drink per day. So it can and usually does make a big difference for thin people.

As for those who are overweight, it is still better for you to drink diet soft drinks and cut out all that extra sugar, but I've noticed over the years that many overweight people will order half the menu at a restaurant or a fast-food joint and then order a diet soft drink. I have to wonder why people like that even bother with diet soft drinks. What's the point if you're still taking in way too many calories?
