Sheffrys...I know what you mean I used to go flower cropping and spud picking and knowing how sodden the ground round the wisbech and holbeach area can get this is why I mentioned it.

NO!! This is the cause of shortages. Years ago an aunt of mine stocked up on white pepper because she had heard there would be a shortage. She did not use pepper!
