How come they put 'Warning, contains nuts' on packets of nuts?

Isn't it obvious?

Fair enough to warn people if prawns or whatever contain nuts but a packet of peanuts is kinda a giveaway, no?

Also, the 'do not consume if you are allergic to peanuts' warning should be obvious.

Because the world is full of stupid-sue happy people. I'm sure someone with allergies ate them and then won millions in a lawsuit!
