Pasta sauce?
What regular spices can I add to plain old Ragu to jazz it up a little? My picky eater sister will have to like it. Answer fast please!

I used to put all kinds of stuff in there. But you know what? It's best when you keep it simple. Fresh parsely, garlic, an optional onion, a couple of bay leafs, MAYBE some fresh basil. The flavor of a good ragu comes from the meats and the slow cooking. A good pork bone, a shank of veal, perhaps some lamb. Those will make the sauce better. But you need a good basic sauce. And spices arent going to make it better.
