Salt is a crystal or mineral basically tiny rocks. It will keep almost indefinitely. But salt is prone to absorb moisture from the air surrounding it. Make sure it is in a well sealed container. some people put a little dry rice in their salt to absorb any moisture. If you salt becomes clumpy from moisture It usually taste funny in my opinion. As long as its dry its good.
