Question:

Have you ever know a potato fritter to be called a klondike uk?

we asked a chip shop owner for a klondike or clondyke not sure of spelling he said it is either a potato fritter or a scallop never been called a clondike i disagree im sure that they have been known as clondykes

Answers:

IT is called a Klondike, which is a thickly sliced potato dipped in batter and deep fried until golden brown, it was in the 60ties that you started to buy them from the chip shops, as i do not go to a chip shop now not sure if they still sell them.
