My raw hamburg is brown in the middle.. is it bad?
Ok this is my first time cooking on my own and I obviously dont want to eat bad food. The outside of the hamburg is bright red, but there are places on the inside where its brown. Theres no peculair bad smell to it.. is it still good to eat?

Excuse me, Laian. I just picked it up that afternoon and posted this question 20 minutes after doing so. It was not sitting in my fridge. Please dont jump to conclusions
Answers:
It's perfectly fine to eat.
Believe it or not, raw meat (at least beef) is actually brown, and not pink. I've read somewhere that we add coloring to make it pink, which is actually more appealing than the brown color.
I have on plenty of occasions, have had ground beef in my freezer for months on end that have turned back to the brown color, but were still good to eat.
Just a question for you though, did you just buy it? Or has it been sitting in the fridge for a while? If yes to either of those questions, check the expiration date on the package (if it's still wrapped in the original wrapping). If it's way past the expiration, then you shouldn't eat it, unless it's been in the freezer and you just took it out and thawed it.
