Cleaning the Grill ?!

Question:

Cleaning the Grill ?

I recently took to making supper on our grill - well it seems to have pis*ed off my mate since he is griping that I am ruining his grill.

I always cook in foil and toss the meat directly on the rack, I always clean the rack really well, but he is saying I am making a mess underneath the rack *sigh*

I do baste my steaks and burgers and am careful to not put a lot on so it doesn't drip. Am I doing something wrong?

Its a gas grill - what do I do to clean the mess under the grill rack? I would love to continue using it but think I'll just clean it with your advice and buy my own darn grill :)

Answers:

you are not doing anything wrong. you are doing everything right. this is your 'mate's" own ocd or something.

The best way to clean it is, once you are done and the grill has cooled break the grill down. Take the grills off and clean them (even put them through the dish washer if ya want) then take off any other grill parts that freely come off. Clean all the parts then you can scrub down the inside the best you can. simple green is good for this or SOS pads just be sure to rinse it good with water when done.

also there should be a drip pan you can put foil in that to make this all easer.
