Why do my homegrown tomatoes taste SO much better than store-bought ones?

Well everyone is sort of right.... store bought tomato's are picked when green....once picked they are gas'd to ripen, then coated with a food grade wax to help preserve and hold a longer shelf life. Of course your home growns are purely natural and don't go through these processes... That is why to popularity of "Vine ripe tomato's" in stores are now so prevelant....it is a much better tomato.
