once i was chewing this strong mint flavored gum and i driank coca cola and my stomach felt bloated which never happens.. so if i go to the store now and buy mentos and coca cola and eat them will i die? or is it just a myth?

Once you chew the mentos or even have it in your mouth for more than a few seconds, you destroy the microporous surface that reacts to the mentos.
The only reason it fizzes so much is the surface is microporous and it causes all the carbonation to release at once instead of slowly.
All it would do would make you burp LOUDLY if you were to get both down without destroying it.
