I love all the answers saying something like, If it was pronounced 'skon' then, 'it would be pelled that way' or 'it wouldn't have an 'e' on the end. since when did the english language make ANY sense? is 'gone' spelled 'g.o.n.'?
When pronounced correctly it's 'SKON' and should rhyme with 'con'. When pronounced incorectly (and there are a lot of people who do this) it's "S'cone" rhyming with 'cone'.
unless, of course, you are refering to the 'stone of Scone' in which case this is a place name and is pronounced 'scoon' and should rhyme with moon.
