Are you creative in the kitchen? What original dishes of yours came out great & which ones hit the garbage?

I love to create but I'm not that good at it. When my son asks what's for dinner and I say " I'm experimenting tonight" he rolls his eyes and goes straight to the phone to call pizza hut! I would love to hear about your creations both succesful and not.

I too like to be creative. My best dishes were ones I tried to duplicate from a magazine or TV food show recipe. I almost never follow a recipe exactly, I like to give it my little touch. My best dishes have been chicken or pasta which are I think the easiest and most versatile. Don't be intimidated, try new things. The only bad dishes I ever made were when I put either too much seasoning or the wrong spice in something, that didn't exactly go well.
