I'm trying to lose weight but i'm a picky eater and eat the wrongs foods, please help me! (I'm almost 20)!

Question:

I'm trying to lose weight but i'm a picky eater and eat the wrongs foods, please help me! (I'm almost 20)

Well I'm 19, and I'll be 20 in a few months. I'm 5'7 and I want to get to a weight of 160. So I have to lose about 50lbs. I already previously asked a question on what to do in terms of exercise and things like that, so basically I need some diet tips. But I'm just super picky, can someone help please.

1. I like fruits (Bananas are my favorite), but I don't like Veggies (only corn)

2. I like Chicken & Red Meat, but I don't like any sort of pork.
I've grown up my whole life basically eating Pasta & Rice w/ Meat. That's what I've grown to love. Can I still eat that?

3. I know I got to give up my sweets and sodas and drink more water, but is Fruit Punch and Milk good for you as well?
"Smart Choice" lunches, I love them (and Lean Crusine), and those good ideas to eat? Better for lunch or dinner?

4. What is a great breakfast meal to have?

5. (What about the Low-Carb ice cream and cookies, are those okay to have as sweets?)

Any other ideas & suggestions, PLEASE TELL ME!

This will be long, but I promise worth it. I have lost 45 pounds and I'm still losing! I eat all day long. Please read.

You will definitely need to expand your preferences a bit. It is great that you like fruits, but those are a source of sugar. They are far healthier because they are "fructose" sugar (unrefined) but they are still a source of sugar. You will need to learn to love your veggies! That is all there is to it, or you will lose weight in an unhealthy way and it will come back in no time! Veggies fill you up, while only having a few calories (compared to all the carbs, fat and protein) and they offer fiber. Fiber is the key here, hon. Did you know that Americans take in on average only 7-12 grams of fiber daily, and that the daily recommended minimum is 25-30?! Asians take in up to 75 grams daily!!!! Read through cookbooks and online cooking communities to find intersting and tasty ways to get your veggies in, because you can't be healthy and lose weight without them.
Next, you need to reconsider meat! Not saying you have to go vegetarian, but the amount of calories and fat in meat is ridiculous. People will tell you you need it for the protein, but you only need to take in 50 grams of protein a day to be healthy. That's not even the bare minimum. That's a healy intake! You can do that so easily by consuming less fatty sources of it. Dairy (also high in fat unless you purposely get reduced fat kinds) has lots of protein, as well as nuts, beans, eggs and even bread. You could still eat your staple of rice and pasta with meat but you should reconsider and have it only occasionally.
You do need to give up the sweets. Those are just empty calories. But the good news is there are so many sugar free things that are pretty tasty anymore, that you will hardly miss the sugar!!!
The frozen light meals are a great idea. They are good for any meal of the day.
A great breakfast meal to have is a well balanced meal. Make sure to take in a good portion of your daily dietary needs:
26-55 grams of fat
165 g. Carbohydrates (healthy ones, not refined sugary ones)
25-30 grams of fiber
50 grams of protein
Breakfast should be the biggest meal of the day. You have all day to burn those calories and you need the enery. Plus it gets your metabolism going for your day!!!
Lunch should be a small meal, as should dinner. Try to reduce the amount of calories you take in toward the end of the day, because you have less time to burn them as the day ends.
