How come in a BLT the bread and condiments do not get letters.?!

How come in a BLT the bread and condiments do not get letters.?


Answers:

I'd wondered that myself. As far as I can tell, the bread is understood (it *is* a sandwich, after all); and the condiments are optional, so neither get's their own initial. Besides, a BBLTM* doesn't really roll of the tongue now, does it?


*Bread, Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato and Mayo.
