Starting a bakery?!
Starting a bakery?
what kind of culinary training is needed and how long does it take?
Answers:
If you can find a decent 2 year certificate / degree program in your area that would be the ticket and working in a bakery while you're attending class would be the way to go
Where are you ?
Classes would be something like
* Food Service Sanitation-great place to start
* Baking 101- yeast doughs ; lean , rich & rolled in ,
quick breads ,culinary math including the dreaded "how to do bakers percentages "
* Baking 102
Cakes , tortes , icings, frostings , fondants,
decorating.................
* Wedding Cakes
* How to operate a bakery ...costing out stuff,.......
* Accounting
