Safeway/wal-mart brand bottled water - are they just filtered tap water?
They say the water is from "municipal source". what's than mean? just filtered tap water?!

Yes and so is the Pepsi and Coca Cola brands. I live in Salt Lake City and there is a brand of bottled water here called Mount Olympus. It sells as a premium water. Right next to it is the Wal-Mart brand bottled water. If you read the label they both come from the same place. If it doesn't say implicitly that it comes from a spring or a artesian well it's tap water.
You can do it yourself To prove it's safe boil it then run it through a Pur or other water filter and you have about the same thing. There is a product called Poly-Filter it was invented to purify blood but it's biggest use is in the aquarium trade. Buy a pad and use it in a pitcher of water. It will do a fantastic job of cleaning your water. what is great is that you can tell when it's time to change. The pad starts white and slowly gets dingey. cut it and when the center is dingey change it.
