Frying in a pressure cooker, how come the lid does not blow???!

Question:

Frying in a pressure cooker, how come the lid does not blow???

I keep seeing people talking about frying chicken in a pressure cooker, but why doesn't the lid blow off of it? Everytime I have ever tried to cook chicken in it, it blows the lid off. The oil will "froth" and bubble over, so I don't understand what keeps it from blowing the top off the pressure cooker.

Answers:

keep on raising the valve of the cooker so that it will give off the steam in it & the lid won't blow off
