Is my job old fashioned and outdated?!

Question:

Is my job old fashioned and outdated?

Hi, I'm a baker and at 25 have been told that I am very young for this job, apparently Bakers are a dying breed as most people would rather just buy factory made stuff in packets. Is this true? I'd like to one day oopen my own Bakery and Tea rooms, but if people are no longer interested is this a good idea? Or should I just get a job in IT like I've been advised to do?

Answers:

Stick with it. True baking is an art form. There are highly paid bakery/pastry chefs. Follow your dream. Choose the right location, and your Tea Room will be delightful. If you enjoy what you do, you're already a success, as as young as you are, you have time to develop greatness.
