Fish Cheeks ?!

Question:

Fish Cheeks ?

Is there such a dish as fish cheeks? I never knew fish had cheeks I thought they had gills. Or is this one of those things like "chicken fingers" or "buffalo wings" where its not an anatomical discription but a commonly used phrase.

Answers:

Fish Cheeks are a small area in front of the Gills. they are considered to very tasty by many and command a higher price that the rest of the fish because the yield is so small. An example of a fish that the cheeks are sold is Halibut in season. They are very tasty and delicate in flavor.
