What are some steps I should take to become a pastry chef?

I love the show "Ace of Cakes" on the food network. For those who never saw the show, it's about making customize cakes. It's my last year of high school, and I'm not sure how I could go about this. Thanks in advance!

Go to Pastry Chef School. You might have to go to Chef's School and Pastry (deserts) are a part of that. 2 years I think or 18 months.
