How does one effectively mix those all natural nut butters to a good consistency without making a huge mess?


Answers:

The same as how porcupines make love: very carefully. 8^)

You have to go slowly at first, and stir just the top, until the oil on top disappears. Then you stir deeper and deeper. It takes some skill, and some patience, to get it all stirred up without spilling any oil over the side, but it can be done!

My brother-in-law says he pours off all the extra oil, which not only makes it easier to stir up but less oily. I wouldn't do that, but it's another idea.

After it's all stirred up, you're supposed to keep it in the fridge and it won't separate again. But I don't do that. I like it warm, and I use it every day or two. So once it's stirred up, a quick stir each time keeps it stirred up nicely.
