Hello;
Actually,the health recommendations are that people eat tuna NO MORE than twice a week because of the high levels of mercury in the tuna fish. There have been reports that women who have eaten tuna fish while pregnant,have given birth to children who eventually suffer from autism,that is why women are cautioned about not eating tuna more than once a week if at all because of the mercury.
I am not trying to scare you by telling you this,but any woman that I have talked to whose child has autism,they have told me that they ate ALOT of tuna fish while they were pregnant,because it tasted good and they didn't realize that there was so much mercury in the tuna fish.
I don't know if you are pregnant or if you have any children,but if it were me,I wouldn't consume tuna fish because I just think that it is too risky. I hope that I have answered your question and been helpful?
