If Your Child Wouldn't Eat Red Meat, Would You Encourage Him To?!

Question:

If Your Child Wouldn't Eat Red Meat, Would You Encourage Him To?

My son has NEVER been able to stomach red meat. Not even as an infant when we were trying baby food. Occasionally I will try to re-introduce it, but it always triggers his gag reflex. (He can eat tacos but only if the meat is very very finely chopped.)

He does eat chicken and fish so he gets protein... therefore I don't really see the need to encourage him to eat beef. Is there any reason why I should?

Answers:

None whatsoever. Your son may have a problem digesting red meat, and his body automatically rejects it. The mind usually knows what the body can and can't handle, and your son's gag reaction does suggest a physical problem with eating red meat.

He can get protein from many other sources besides red meat, so as long as he's him to eat beef.
