What does "BROIL" mean? And how do you broil meat? i.e. chops etc.?


Answers:

When you broil meat your heat source is gonna be coming from the top. Some ovens,mostly gas ones, have a broiler pan underneath the main oven compartment. Others like most electric have an extra heating coil at the top of the main compartment. Broiling usually does not take as long as roasting. For me it's usually a way to cook stuff at high heat fast. As opposed to roasting is slow but usually is a lot more tender.
