What exactly is "Gourmet" when used as an adjective?!

What exactly is "Gourmet" when used as an adjective?

There was this guy who would always brag about how he only ate gourmet food, then hed go suck jello through a straw

does it mean its made by chefs or culinary wizards or something?


Answers:

Gourmet is a better grade/quality food. Your 4 & 5 star restaurants would be considered as serving gourmet meals. You pay a lot more for these dishes. Sounds like this guy you know is just a pompous lil thing... And then he'd suck jello through a straw. hehehehe
