Yes, you bake an egg in an eggbake. Also, there are no preservatives in a cake made from scratch.

You don't bake eggs, but I catch your drift. I wouldn't eat a fried egg that has been left out for 3 days.
Most cake has enough sugar in to preserve them. A cake made with artificial sweetener will not last as well.
Hot weather will make a difference also to the longevity.
