Why do grapes often have a white powdery coating?!

Question:

Why do grapes often have a white powdery coating?

Answers:

It's the natural fruit yeast on the skin. Perfectly ok to eat, helps the grape juice to ferment during winemaking. (I can't speak for the sprays that might have been used on the grapevines though).
