Heavy bread?!
Heavy bread?
2day in my cooking class we were making bread. I followed the recipie exactly and then mixed everything with a knive as did everyone else. but then my bread was alot heavier than everybody elses and was more tough and didn't stretch... does any1 know why this is?

You might not have let your yeast proof or it might have just been bad yeast. Every once in a while, I get bad yeast even though it's within the expiration date and I use the right temp water for proofing, etc. What did your teacher say?
