Artificial taste tester?

has anyone ever heard of artificial taste-tester? where there's this device invented for people to taste food without actually eating it? i watched it on national geographic or discovery channel, and the person take a bite on that tools like she was actually biting an apple. it produces the sounds of people take a bite of apple, and the person can actually taste it through the artificial taste.
