How come when I eat an apple as a snack?!

Question:

How come when I eat an apple as a snack?

I feel even hungrier afterwards? Does this happen to anyone else and/or why do I feel hungry after?

Answers:

Apples are high on the glycemic index, which means that they're very sugary (in a natural way). This causes your insulin levels to rise in order to balance out the added sugar, and then after the apple is "processed", you crave more sugar to balance out that added insulin.

Try eating your apple with peanut butter or cheese; the protein helps balance out the glycemic overload.
