Sliced apples?!

Question:

Sliced apples?

After cutting an Apple open how do I keep it from turning brown. Sometimes I like to cut them the night before and pack for lunches. any ideas will be helpful. Thanks.

Answers:

Sprinkle them with 'Fruit Fresh' which is really just powdered vitamin C (ascorbic acid?) (in baking aisle at grocery store). Or, when I'm making pie, I'll put the peeled apples in a bowl of water into which I've squeezed half a lemon.Neither of these will keep them from browning for as long as you want, though. If I peel and slice apples, and sprinkle them with lemon or fruit fresh in the morning for my kids lunches, and they eat at 11:30, they say they're too brown to eat . And I agree, so I don't do that anymore.
