How many ears of corn on the cob would you normally eat in one sitting?!

Question:

How many ears of corn on the cob would you normally eat in one sitting?

I am particularly interested in hearing from Americans here. In the UK, we would eat only 1 as a starter, or even as lunch. I have heard stories from Brits in the US of mountains of corn being consumed in a sitting.
