WHats the difference between a melon that has ridges and a melon that has a smooth surface?!

Question:

WHats the difference between a melon that has ridges and a melon that has a smooth surface?

We have one of each but the taste is the same. The one with ridges cost 3.29lb and the one with smooth surface cost 99.lb. So u assume there is a difference can you telll me what that is.

Answers:

The one with ridges is called a "Musk Melon" and the smooth is a "Cantaloupe". Pretty similar, but my boyfriend says the Musk Melon has a "gamier" taste to it than cantaloupe, not as sweet. I guess, thus, the name!
