I think most people put Chinese food on a plate...except in TV and the movies?!

Question:

I think most people put Chinese food on a plate...except in TV and the movies?

OK this is somewhat trivial I'll admit but one of those little things I have always scratched my head over.
If you order Chinese food delivered (or "take away" as our friends in the UK call it) it will usually come in one of those little boxes.
How many of you eat it right out of the box?
Most folks I know will empty the contents on to a plate, then it eat it...right? I know I do and I've never seen anyone else do otherwise.
Except on TV and in the movies!
Ever notice that when a character in a show or movie has Chinese food delivered they will then ALWAYS eat it right out of the box?!?
Why?
Is it to show that they are eating Chinese food - as if that is somehow important to the plot?

Is it like whenever a character in a TV show or a movie is seen coming back from the grocery store they will ALWAYS, without exception, have a big piece of French bread sticking out of the top of the bag?!?

ROTFLMAO! Never thought about it before, but you are so right. We pour ours on a plate and eat it that way.

Never picked up on the french bread thing, but I'll be watching for it now. Definitely out of the box! Otherwise - why order take-out? It feels great to chow down straight from the container without dirtying up your kitchen or dishes. For some weird reason it seems like something rebellious. Sort of like drinking milk from the carton when no one is looking. ; - ) lol well im from texas and no Chinese food comes in thoise boxes that they come in in the movies i wish lol cuz if they did i would it it out of the box to feel cool yea its pretty gay looking and usually they are sitting cross legged in front of the tv or on the couch looking like a slob with chop sticks, most people eat it on a plate and mix everything or put it side by side. am i right or am i right?
