Or are the grocery stores not really up to par? Thanks.
Answers: I grew up on the coast of Oregon. And Yes...the seafood in your local grocery store is as fresh as at the Market. Depending on the grocery, they typically support their local fisherman by purchasing and stocking their daily catch. It's a local community 'loyalty' thing...as it should be. I live 12 hours inland now....and I DON'T buy seafood here. The thought GROSS' me out!!! The only time I eat seafood anymore is when I go home...which isn't often enough. You should also notice a difference in the price of the seafood between the grocery and the market. It is usually cheaper at the grocery. Good luck ....and have a big ol' chunk o' fresh crab for me..will ya? Thanks Probably not as fresh as the meat markets. But I've only been to the coastal areas about 10 times in my life :D You should be able to find seafood shops along the water that bring in fresh seafood daily! We have like 6 of them here in Beaufort, SC.
