How do you feel about eating chicken feet ?
I saw a documentary showing refined society women in China eating cooked chicken FEET (toenails or talons and all)
YUCK
I don't understand how this could become a habit of a refined person ANYWHERE in the world .
Answers: Honey, as you grow older, and see more in the world, you will find that we are all different, I could never eat these things. but we learn as little children to eat what are parants feed us, the most sickening thing I ever seen, was french people eating chesse, that has maggots crawling all over it, and they were lapping it up with bread.......I would eat cooked chicken feet, before I would eat maggots........just enjoy our good ole american food,........no toenails, and no maggots....thank God Source(s):
Love to eat cooked, non moving food What about Ham Hawks, Pigs feet? they eat stranger things than that Hello:
I think I will pass on this one, excuse me while I go puke. *Winnie bolts up from her chair and runs to the bathroom* eeeww hehe well im not sure but i think its wierd They are tasty, but fatty. Think of eating chicken skin. It is almost the same. It is alot of work with little reward. They are after they cologin (the same thing in your ears and nose) When cooked it becomes very fatty and desirable. Similar to fish eyes. Yeah. So much more gross than the American delicacies of scrapple (made from pig scraps), head cheese (no, it's not cheese!), or fried brain sandwiches.
Get over yourself. GROSS!! I make homemade stocks, I have friends that make stocks and put chicken feet in the stock (only to boil and strain out when the stock is complete- not to eat) and the thought of chicken feet is so repulsive to me I will not even put it in my stock- I dont want to see them bobbing around in there while it is cooking.
I cannot imagine eating them or why anyone would eat them but I have seen and heard grosser and stranger. they call them phoenix talons and they are supposed to be good and bring good luck and health and everything in one chicken foot. i grew up with cubans and they treat them like a delicacy too. i think if i had eaten them as a kid i might be able to -- when you grow up they are kind of creepy. cuban lunch delis will have a steamer tray of them in a tomato based sauce -- kind of nasty. They are actually good. I lived in the midwest for a couple of years and saw that all parts of the chicken and the hog were used.
Chicken brains were battered and fried and served with scrambled eggs.
Chicken feet were cleaned well and simmered with spices until very tender. Succulent!
Pig tail- cleaned well and roasted over a fire.
Ham hocks, pig jowls, pig ears, souse meat, etc., etc. Actually very good.
A lot of what we Americans do not eat are commonly eaten in 'civilized' countries like France. And, you pay a premium to get those dishes. As long as I have a job I will never eat chicken feet! People in other parts of the world eat many things I wouldn't put in my mouth.
I would NEVER eat a chicken's foot. But I wouldn't eat an ant or bug either.... i used to love EATING chicken feet.
its delicous. i eat cooked chicken feet but without those nails lah
