Do you think that Thai fish sauce smells like wet Dog?!

Question:

Do you think that Thai fish sauce smells like wet Dog?

I made a Thai dish recently which contained fish sauce and oyster sauce- my kitchen smelt like wet dog all day.

Answers: You know I bought a bottle of the stuff, smelt it and could not add it to my food, I know it is meant to taste better than it smells but I could not risk it. I dont know about wet dog, but it might smell like rotten fish...beacuse that is what it is. Just smells like rotting fish to me... my dogs don't smell like that, even after a walk in the rain.

A foodie will say the fish sauce smells like anchovies. yes your a fuckin lose talkin about thai food and wet dog O gross, I never bought that stuff yet but if it smells like wet dog, then I'll pass. umm, I don't have a dog so i cannot compare the two, but sure...I do like fish sauce in some of my cooking, but not all the time, it gives a unique tast to salt... you probably bought the "ground dog" sauce by mistake I've always thought it smells of old socks. It tastes better than it smells. Interesting... I walked into this one Thai restaurant and it smelled like wet dog in there that I walked out. Ewe-i wouldnt eat anything with fish sauce-yuk!!xx
