I have a pack of fake ground beef.?!

Question:

I have a pack of fake ground beef.?

Any ideas for what I could cook with it? My brain is dead and I just keep staring at the packet.

To let you know, all I have in my fridge are - 1/2 onion, a zucchini, 2 big potatoes, a red pepper, a turnip, a loaf of bread, and some cheese. Plus my very full spice cupboard, some rice, some canned tomatoes, and some wholegrain pasta.

Answers: some chili/goulosh...cook up the ground beef (season with salt and pepper to taste, and break it up just like you would for hamburger helper)...cook up your pasta...throw it together (or you can leave it separate and add as many noodles to your bowl as you like)...in the beef add the onion, red pepper, canned tomatoes, and maybe some tomato soup or juice if you have it...add some spices (chili pepper or red pepper, salt, pepper, galic)...it's almost chili...then you could always add some cheese on the top of your bowl...

or you could make barbecue, if you have tomato soup...it's easier...cook up the fake ground beef (break it up nice and small and season with salt, pepper and garlic to taste)...when it's almost done cooking, add the onion and red pepper (both finely chopped) and make sure there is some water in the pan and cover it...cook until the vegetables are tender...then drain the excess...add the tomato soup, not enough to make it soup, just for sandwiches...and add a little more salt, pepper, garlic and some brown sugar....let it simmer over medium-low heat to blend the flavors (if you want it a little sweeter add more brown sugar, I usually use a lot)....and then you can make bbq sandwiches, which you can also melt cheese on top of.... what is in fake ground beef? Maybe I'll put THAT in a ? Mix it all up, except for the bread, and call it chili! what is fake ground beef?!?!?!?! Sounds like a good combo for stew. Cut up onion, turnip, zucchini, and potatoes. Heat large pan with some olive oil and soften onions in pan. Add hamburger, salt, pepper, and some italian seasonings like thyme, basil, rosemary, etc. Brown hamburger and then put turnip and potatoes into pan and cover with water and low boil. While waiting for potatoes to finish, add a can of tomatoes and zucchini and reduce heat to simmer. Add some red wine if you have any. Serve with bread and butter. Mix fake ground beef, chopped onion, chopped red pepper in pan and saute til onions are done. Chop up the tomatoes a bit with a knife, food processor blender anything on hand then mix in and add any italian seasoning you have and/or garlic, basil, oregano etc. Simmer on low heat for a good 10 to 20 minutes In another pot cook your pasta then mix both together and top with chz and take the bread and make garlic toast. All those ingredients would make a great soup (turnip is excellent in soup). 1/2 onion is a not quite enough for a soup. Do you have any minced onion in the spice cupboard?

An casserole is another option: In a large sautee pan, sautee your onion and red pepper for a few minutes. Add fresh garlic if you have it, then add chopped zuccini, some oregano, basil, garlic powder if no fresh garlic, red pepper flakes. If you have dried onion, add a bit too. sautee about 5 mins more until zucc begins to soften. Add tomatoes, crushing if whole, add the fake meat and simmer, uncovered, 30 mins or so until yummy.

Cook your pasta until it's note quite done. Combine pasta and veg mixture in a casserole and layer with cheese. Cover and bake at 350 for 30-45 mins, or until bubbly.
