what does clover taste like?
Answers: Have you tried arugula, or rocket as it's called in some areas? It's definitely easy and quick to grow: we planted some about 5 years ago and haven't re-sown it since, and it still "volunteers" every year. The young tender leaves have a mild pepperiness that doesn't overwhelm, and it has a slight nutty quality that I love. But you do have to harvest them young, or the plants bolt and the leaves get bitter. Chop the plants back brutally a couple of times during their growing season and you'll have young arugula leaves for about 6 months of the year.
I've never tasted clover, except that I sometimes use the flower heads (torn up) in salads, for decoration and a touch of sweetness. I'd expect clover greens to be sweet and mild as well. Anyway, I'm sure they're not poisonous, so why not pick a few leaves and judge for yourself? Good luck. The only answer I can think of is - if your not over keen on "Mustard & Cress, & I think you are talking of little plastic boxes of cress!
Have you tried "bunches" of English grown fresh cress ?
It's fabulous......xxx Buy alfalfa seeds or bean sprout seeds. Easy to grow. Just put a couple of teaspoons in a jam jar. Cover the top with muslin then each day pour water in and then empty the jar so that the seeds are kept moist but not wet. Lie the jar on it's side in a dark place. The seeds will sprout very quickly and will double in size every day after that, they are really tasty and very good for you too.
