I bought a meat loaf from a grocery near my house . I tasted like if it was filled with chlorine. How could it reached the food? Thats really gross and I would complain, we used to have chlorine in our tap water and I liked it, it just tasted realy clean and refreshing but in meat...and the fact that it was powerful enough to overwhelm the flavor of the meat....thats kinda disturbing, like did they disinfect the meat with bleach or chlorine...but obviously if its safe enough to swim in and ppl swallow it....I would complain to the store and maybe find somewhere new to shop. What the helk were you eating? If it is something you made with your tap water that could be where the taste is coming from. Use filtered water for your cooking. Chlorine disinfects the water but I don't know how dangerous it is. It is basically bleach. It could be that you tasted chlorine in your food.
Chlorine in food processing:
Chlorine and chlorine-containing compounds play a vital role in the safe production, processing, transport and preparation of foods of all varieties. On the farm, chlorinated water is used for irrigation and livestock watering to lower the risk of contamination of crops and livestock. Chlorine solutions are used industrially to wash fruits and vegetables. The dairy, poultry, egg and meat industries all use the chemical in numerous ways to prevent contamination that could lead to food-borne illness. Chlorine is also used extensively in food processing and transport to disinfect surfaces of all types (e.g. work surfaces, instruments, machinery and containers) that contact edible products. hum seems there's a high concentration of that element at the grocers water supply.... it's ok.. well if it tastes so nasty you can return it or just trash the thing and make your own from your own water source.
it may be in the meat or the additives in the food. this meatloaf may be on the old side also.. so i think you'll save more money if you just not eat it.. if you get my drift.
costs more if you get a bit sick than to just trash the item.
:D
cholorine is everywhere but you should taste it like it's high concentration like out of a water fountain or anything like that in the food....
it may be the water or sometimes certain spoilages taste like certain chemicals.. just toss it.
get a pizza!
(if you did eat it.. you are going to live.. just next time..... don't go for the foods that smell like the water supply or rot.) Maybe the mixing bowls were disinfected with chlorine.Only you can make the judgment , as to (too) much , to be responsible for your health. I would certainly complain to shop keeper, Better yet make your own, and you will know what your eating!! How do you know what chlorine tastes like?
