How long does it take for jam to expire?!

Question:

How long does it take for jam to expire?

if it is homemade and sealed in a container?

Answers: If the container is sealed and hasn't been opened, the jam will last for a very long time. Microbiologically it will be safe virtually forever. There is almost nothing that will grow in properly prepared jam. The water activity is low enough that nothing except mold will grow and as long as there's no oxygen even that won't grow. Eventually, it will lose its flavor and perhaps color but it's still safe to eat.
PhD Food Chemistry and Nutrition I don't know if you have a deep freeze, but if you do and you have the space, you can freeze your jam. I put the bottles right in the freezer and I've had some jams frozen for....I'd actually be ashamed to tell you how long...years and years...and they taste as delicious now as when I first froze them! Honest.
