Ice tray missing water!?!

Question:

Ice tray missing water!?

ok here is the deal, i have a ice tray, freezer and water. i put the water in the tray and then the tray in the freezer. the water is level across the tray, there are no holes, but when i go to get the ice there is a missing ice cube from the slot its supposed to be in! every time! any ideas?

Answers: There is a tiny hole in the slot where there is no ice cube. Or a very tiny person with a very small glass only needed one cube. :) it sounds like you have a crack in your tray that is letting out all of the water I bet you have a hairline crack in the tray and all the water is seeping out. Try filling that one slot with water and leaving it on the counter for an hour or so. If there's a puddle under it when you come back, there's your answer! dont let your ice sit in the tray it evaporates You must have a self defrosting freezer (is that what you call it) . It is quite normal for these type of freezers to remove any uncovered ice , this is so that you never have to defrost the freezer. To solve this problem you could place the ice cube tray in a plastic bag or cover it in some way and you won't have this problem.
