How much do you pay for grocery items in the US?
Hi I am considering a move to the US next year and was wondering how much you pay from grocery items over there?
For example milk, bread, cheese, chicken, bananas, apples anything else you think of
Thanks for your help in advance :D
Answers: This will vary greatly depending on where you shop and where you choose to live. In Idaho, milk aprox $3.20 a gallon, bread $1.50 a loaf, cheese $5 for 2 lbs, chicken $1.80 lb boneless skinless chicken breast, apples $1 a lb, bananas $.38 lb, I'm writing a much more detailed list for the special report How I Feed my family of ten on $100 a week available from www.all-about-meat.com The sample weekly menu roughed in is currently $76? but I need to add some additional milk and produce, etc. This is a work in progress and is added to frequently. www.all-about-meat.com well it really depends on what kind of food it is, and what the quality is. o.k. u have different names brands of food so therefore u will have different prices, but i will give u the price that i would pay for example, milk per gallon $3.79, bread, and again it all depends on the name brand but for me one loaf of white bread will cost me about $1.79. cheese $2.39 for 16 slices. bananas are about .49 per pound, chicken for a family pack of wings is about $4.49 a pack. but sometimes u have to shop around. i find that buying groceries at walmart is alot cheaper than any where else. i would be more concern with gas prices. It depends on what quality of food you typically purchase and whereabouts in the US you are planning on nesting. Here in a medium sized Northern California town, I shop at a local natural foods co-op and on those items would spend about $22 on those things (not up on chicken prices though, I'm a veggie). But free range chicken tends to cost quite a bit more. You could probably go to a chain supermarket and get all of those things for around $15. about the same as you would buy in canada it all depends on where you want to move to in the usa all of the states have different prices for everything north, south, east and west all differ in price check out the gas prices that will give you a clue on where to locate!!!!! hope I helped you...........
