When is a calorie considered consumed?!

Question:

When is a calorie considered consumed?

I was wondering if something says it has 100 calories in it when are the calories consumed in your body. What if you put it into your mouth chew on it for a little and then spit it out? Would you still get the 100 calories? Or if you just put it in your mouth and realize that you do not like it. What then? This is a really interesting question and I am wondering if you guys can give me an answer.

Answers: Some things will absorb into your system through the mouth. Simple sugars will at least a little. But if you spit something out you are not consuming many of the calories in it. Everywhere between your lips and your (_*_)

If you spit food out, you aren't getting the calories... If you yak after you eat, you aren't getting all the calories... If you have a bad case of montezuma's revenge, you aren't getting all the calories.
