Free stuff in supermarkets?!

Question:

Free stuff in supermarkets?

Hi we have all seen the "buy one get one free" offers. My question is If a product is offered as "Extra 25% free" can I legally take the "Free 25%" as it does not stipulate I have to buy the product to get the Free bit .

Answers: legally yes

morally no

LOL id love to see you try that for the banter! let me know if you do , and btw im from glasgow whats wrong with that?! to the poster that said are you scottish! are you scottish by any chance,,,,:) That would be ace if you could. You could go in on a daily basis and take your 25% free and in four days you would have a full one No that would be actionable because eventhough it does not say a purchase is required you would still have to open the package and THAT you are not allowed to do unless you are going to pay for it. plus how exactly were you going to measure the 25%? Never tried it, i'd say you'd get away with it lol oh who cares? jus buy wateva is buy 1 get 1 free, i doo!!! Ha ha! If it works let me know.

Does the "extra" not mean you have to buy the normal amount to get the 25% extra free? try it the extra means if you buy the product you get a extra 25% What were you planning on doing.. reaching into the cash register? Yeah... that would be illegal. The so-called "free bit" is included in the packaged food you are buying, not in the price. That was really a pretty silly question. Really folks... find something more productive to do when you're bored. Erm no don't think so & as for you forty licks what your problem with scottish ppl?????? Im scottish & would never have considered something as rediculous as taking the free 25% because i didnt want to spend money on the product. try it and let me know how you get on by calling me from jail. Coke and Pepsi regularly run contests where you win something according to what's under the pop bottle caps of their product.

The contest rules say "No purchase necessary."

Sounds like you're allowed to just sit there in the aisle, and open all the bottles until you find a winner. I've never had the time to try out that experiment, though. Would you care to try it, and report back? since you have to steal the first 75% to get to the free 25%, then in fact, you are stealing.

Kind of sucks -- doesn't it? Nothing is free. Why does he have to be scottish? He may be a Yorkshireman! You have to buy the package to get the free offer, it does say so somewhere within the store. i seriously doubt it. Could say the same for "no purchase necessary" you may be stretching it a wee bit there, hon. no they get you in the wording

"25 % EXTRA FREE"

basically that means you get 25% of say 1KG when you buy it..

if you dont buy it you would get 25% extra free but of 0KG.....

that is how it goes im afraid.....

It would be great though if you coud go in and get the 25/50/100% stuff and just fill your trolley and walk out... haha !
