Can you put wax paper in the oven?
Everytime I do it, i smokes up real bad, but it doesnt catch fire or burn.

I wouldn't recommend it because it can be really dangerous!My mom did that one time and our WHOLE OVEN caught on fire and we had to call the fire department! Source(s):
Nurse and Mother Yes. I don't know why it would smoke up. Use a non-stick cookie sheet, with Pam spray. For your baked items. No you cannot put waxed paper in the oven--what you actually need is Parchment Paper which is a siliconed paper product thast keeps things from sticking to the sheet pan and brown nicely. and may i ask why do you do that??
