I am a serious shopper, but I also have a budget. What is your impression of WalMart?
Answers: I prefer to seek out the smaller chain stores that have "every day low prices." I stock up on expensive vegetarian burgers at Walmart, sometimes. I make an effort to spend money at other places and pay a little more so as not to support Walmart. I feel they don't take care of their employees very well or pay them fairly. It's worth paying a little more to keep my spending in line with my personal values. Wal-Mart is about as cheap as you can get. Much cheaper than the grocery stores. Sam's would be my choice for large items. Excellent merchandise, very good prices. I am constantly amazed at the high quality and good taste of the Walmart brands of food. The canned goods are better quality than many of the name brands. Try the (off brand ) 4.99 per 5 qt. containers of Neopolitan Ice Cream. It rocks.
(Not a WalMart employee, either). I have shopped at Walmart for years,its good.But I also have to say that their prices can be beat.I bargain shop on Saturdays with my daughters.I have the newspaper from the Sunday before and we but and compare from it.Money is tight and I take care of myself,so its bargains for me... I like walmart, everythings cheap there!
:] i live in UK,but have relatives in USA.i am going over in a few weeks. i love walmart,and go as often as i can when i am over there! It has good products at reasonable prices,I shop there,but you can sometimes find the item at a lower price elsewhere,at todays gas prices its a trade-off.They also have knowledgeable service. Hello:
I can honestly tell you that Wal-Mart can't be beat for it's low prices however keep in mind that Wal-Mart is getting VERY PICKY about what products that they are choosing to carry especially in the food,clothes and shoe department! Their clothes and shoes are cheap enough,but there isn't a whole lot of variety for girls or women especially in the shoe department. I don't expect wall to wall shoes everywhere,but their stock has alot to be desired in clothes and shoes.
In the grocery department,they are getting very picky about what they are carrying and believe it or not,I can get my cereals cheaper at Kroger than I can at Wal-Mart not kidding! We do get all of our laundry detergent,cleaning supplies,toilet paper there because it is much cheaper than anywhere else!
You do have to look around other grocery stores and sometimes their sales on toilet paper,paper towels,diapers,etc will be cheaper than Wal-Mart's everyday price! I do some of my grocery shopping at Kroger,and the rest I do at Wal-Mart.
In the end,Wal-Mart cannot be beat on their every day low prices,but you really have to comparison shop,because some things are more expensive there than our local grocery stores are! OK you can go to Wal*Mart & get a box of Cap'n Crunch Berries for $2.89 or you can get that same box at the grocery store for $4.98.
As a single mom of 3 growing children what ever I can get from walmart I do. Snacks, hygine...everything.
It's not a big deal if I am only saving pennies (like an individual bag of M&M...$0.44 at wallyworld yet $0.69 at grocery world) but the stuff I purchase is dollar differences.
I don't understand why more ppl don't buy from walmart.
On the ocaasion the grocery store have their week long 'specials' and those products are closer to walmart prices and might even beat them...but that's not an everyday thing.
New release movies...Fantasic 4 part 2...I picked up for $14.89. The first week of new releases are ALWAYS this cheep.
My HP laptop came w/ a printer & carrying case for $1000.00 (3yrs ago).
My only advice would be to keep ALL your recipets because you never know when you might have to return something. great place I love it.
Get their deli chicken and canned chicken. They have the best and it is cheap.
I also love their frosted, shredded wheat cereal and their salsa. They are both Walmart brand, budget friendly and amazing. I would choose them over expensive products, even if they were all the same cost. Right now our Walmart gives you a survey code on the receipt and you can take the survey and tell them what you think of the store and your experience. In our small town it's all we have besides grocery stores and a outlet mall with one store for clothes in it. Is rat poison good for you?
