What does lobster taste like?
going to a lobster lunch next week , i have never tasted lobster. is it strong tasting?
i dont want to look a fool by ordering it then not liking it, i like shrimp & crab does lobster taste similar? Additional Details

Themost basic way of eating it is it will come to the table and you get to play with your food( lobster crackers and forks should be provided) and as you pull it from the shell, you dip it into melted butter.....YUMMMMMMM....~ it there a spare seat????

have you ever had crab legs? because its similar.. yea it almost like crab, but better ....really doesnt have a strong taste, if u like seafood,you will love lobster, especially with the shrimp sauce..idk whats it called..its red..=) rubbery mushrooms lobster is very nice. Nobody really dislikes lobster, except the people who are allergic to it. They turn red, and their throat swells up and they can't breath, then they dance about on the floor a bit, turn blue, and then stop dancing completely and lie very, very still. Your first time eating lobster, you probably want to have a spray bottle of Primatene mist handy. its a bit like the claw meat in a crab yummy you will like it but it can get messy eating it so cover up well enjoy. erm it tastes like lobster lol King prawns. Lobster tastes like.......lobster........sort of rubbery and sweet with the taste of melted butter since that what you dip it in. In other words it tastes like rubber dipped in butter. I have had lobster before and I wasn't impressed with the taste of it whatsoever! It tastes like a really strong rubbery fish,and the taste is really overwhelming. I tried to dip it in butter and I even tried to dip it into some cocktail sauce,and it still tasted very fishy,rubbery,and gross! Its very very good! I like it grilled tho, with a hint of garlic, then dip the pieces in melted butter. Enjoy your free lobster!!!! If you like shrimp and crab, you'll sure like the taste of lobster then! Lobster to me has it's own unique taste. If the lobster is cooked at the right temperature and cooking time frame, it'll not tasted like shrimp or crab and it'll not be rubbery like most of the people refered to.

If it's your first time, I suggest ordering lobster tail, as opposed to the whole thing. The whole lobster can be a bit intimidating right off. It's kinda like a meatier prawn/shrimp and not unlike crab. If you like seafood, you'll like lobster. It's a very "meaty" dense fish and it's light and fluffy at the same time.
You will enjoy EVERY morsel.
