OOh yes! I remember all those! And I remember 5p and 10p mix ups and you could get LOADS of sweets in those! Black Jacks and Flying Saucers, Refreshers, Chocolate Tools and White Chocolate Fish and Chips - Lovely!

I loved Spanish gold and lucky bags. I also liked sweet peanuts and cleamline liquorice toffes..yum!
A ten pence mix containing fruit salads, flying saucers and red laces.

I used to love those candy "buttons". The little round pieces of different colored candy stuck on long strips of paper. Bits of paper always stuck to the candy dots, but I ate them anyway. I wonder how much paper I ate that way when I was a kid. LOL

my favorites were thoes frosting covered animal cookies, whenever I saw a bag, I nearly drooled!

there are 2 shops in Rye east sussex you can still buy most of the above ,
Old Jamaica rum & raisin chocolate.
I used to get a quarter of mixed sherbet and my index finger was always orange from dipping my finger in and sucking it! It was real sherbet then, looked like sugar grains. Also sweet cigarettes and sweet tobacco, it was gorgeous.

Spangles, but you can't get them any more. They brought them back for a short while but you could only get them in Woolworths, now they've stopped them again.
nearly all those old day sweets can be bought at your local market just ask the stall holder which one you want and he will have on his stall the following week

one pence----pink bubblegum,8pence curlywurly, 7 pence yorkie bar &aero----brings be back down memory lane,pear drops,rhubarb and custard drops.
