Is tilapia (a type of fish) kosher?!

Question: My uncle (a Seventh Day Adventist) wants to know if it is kosher.

Answers: My uncle (a Seventh Day Adventist) wants to know if it is kosher.
I am a former chef and worked with a Kosher kitchen and the one fellow and his biblical quote said it, it must have gills, scales and swim, and correct bottom feeders and smooth skin fish and shell fish along with crustesean are not Kosher.

At one time Tiliapia was called the "St Peter Fish" as on the sides of the fish near the gills there are 2 black marks, said to be were the Apostle Peter had touched the fish when a fisherman in the Sea of Galilee as a follower of Jesus.
I am not an expert, but I would think all fish that are not super-predatory or dwell on bottom of ocean floor is kosher.

So shark, shrimp, catfish, crab are prob not kosher.
It has fins, scales and gills, so I do believe it fits the criteria..
Whatever has fins and scales is safe to eat. All else is an abomination. Of their flesh you shall not eat and their carcasses you shall detest.
I don't think it is a kosher fish. I went to the "dog pile" search engine and put in "Kosher fish" and came up with the following. It gives you a website: K A S H R U T . C O M?
That you can check for kosher and non kosher fish and other products. Go to the search engine and type in kosher fish. I think it will be very helpful to to!!! I copied and pasted the kosher fish list which is listed below, but there is a lot of information on that page!
